Swedish Fika

Say coffee, coffee, coffee in a loop for some time and you'll find yourself saying "Fika" after a while.



Fika is something totally Swedish. It's a coffee or a tea break, accompanied by some cakes or cookies and some friendly chat. The university chancellor told us that it's a big part of Swedish culture, and she's made most of her personal developments during those coffee breaks.

On our first day of the orientation week, we were assigned "fadders". They are equivalent to our buddies/mentors in Sabanci University. We had our first Swedish fika with a group of Erasmus students and our fadders. Here are some pictures from the "Fika":



French, Greek, Turkish, Italian, Finnish.. All having a fika on the very same table. How cool is that? =)
